Cherry Ice cream Recipe

Refreshing and flavorful cherry ice cream with dark chocolate chips. I don’t always make ice cream at home, don’t even have an ice cream machine, but when I really crave my favorite dark chocolate cherry ice cream, I make some without thinking. As hard or complicated it may seem,or sound, this kind of homemade ice cream is, in fact , a very simple in making. Minimum ingredients needed to make the perfect tasting frozen treat. All you need is heavy whipping cream, sweetened condensed milk, your favorite flavor extract or berries, and some patience until it’s completely frozen.

I made this recipe for myself, as cherry flavored ice cream happens to be one of my absolute favorites, but it quickly became everybody’s favorite.

Homemade Cherry Ice cream Recipe

Ingredients 

Homemade Cherry Ice cream Recipe

2 cups cold heavy whipping cream

1 can sweetened condensed milk, you may use ⅔ or ¾ can, depending to your taste of sweetness

1 tsp vanilla extract

4-6 drops cherry flavored extract

10-15 black cherries

1 ½ – 2 oz (50 grams) dark chocolate, use more or less to your preference

You will also need freezer safe plastic container

Directions 

Homemade Cherry Ice cream Recipe

Place your mixing bowl and whisk attachment in freezer before using (10-15 minutes ahead)

Start by shaving the chocolate ( I use potato peeler) and slicing the cherries into small, bite size pieces, set aside

Beat your heavy cream until stiff consistency

Gently fold in about ⅔ of the condensed milk, taste the sweetness, add more if desired

Fold in the chocolate shavings and cherries

Place the mixture into freezer proof container, cover with a lid

Allow to chill 6-7 hours
