Fried Doughnuts Recipe
You can never have enough doughnuts recipe, especially fried doughnuts , my favorite kind. And, yes I am very well aware it’s not the healthiest food , but as a treat once in awhile we can go for it and forget about it, until the next time.
I already posted a few different recipes for this fried goodness : vegan doughnuts recipe, Krispy Kreme doughnuts recipe… not sure if you’ve tried those, but I can guarantee these delicious Greek doughnuts or as they call them Loukoumades, will become your favorites. And , what are Loukoumades ? It is light, airy and fluffy fried goodness topped with honey and sprinkled with cinnamon when serving.

1 cup warm milk, I used 2%
½ cup warm water
⅓ cup honey
2 ½ tsp instant dry yeast, if using active dry yeast, be sure to activate by adding it to your liquids
¼ tsp allspice ( optional)
3 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp salt
You will also need about 2 cups of grape seed oil for frying
Cinnamon and honey for topping the doughnuts
In a bowl combine your dry ingredients: flour, yeast, allspice and yeast, mix set aside
In a mixing bowl combine : water, milk, honey, stir to incorporate
Start adding your dry ingredients in a few batches, stop and scrape a few times
Mix about 5-7 minutes
Place the dough in a warm place to rise, and almost double in size,may take 45-60 minutes
Preheat the oil to 375°F
Use an ice cream scoop or 2 spoons to form small balls and drop into hot oil
For easier release, dip the spoon in oil
Fry 1 ½ -2 minutes on each side or until nice golden color
Place the fried doughnuts on paper towel to release the excess oil
Serve hot, drizzled with honey and cinnamon
