Dandelion Dish Recipe
The simplest and the most delicious warm dandelion dish, made within minutes . This is the kind of warm appetizer I’d enjoy eating as often as I can. It’s super easy and quick to make, it’s healthy and most importantly: delicious.
I, personally , am a big fan of greens whether it’s fresh , cooked or sautéed. Dandelion leaves happen to be one of those greens that are equally delicious fresh or cooked.
A few days ago I shared a recipe for another dandelion dish, a fresh mixed salad. If you haven’t checked it yet, go ahead and do so, that’s another healthy, easy recipe I’d suggest to try.
I wouldn’t think a precise recipe is needed for this dandelion dish, it can be made simply by eyeballing. What I would advise, is to make a good amount of this yumminess. Get at least 2-3 bunches , if not more. It goes very fast and tastes delicious, warm or cold, the same or next day. I love making a warm pita wrap with it and serve with a side of mixed green salad.

2 bunches of fresh dandelion, coarsely chopped
2-3 tbs olive oil
1 medium onion, finely chopped
3-4 garlic cloves, sliced in half
⅓ tsp ground black pepper
Salt to taste
¼ tsp cayenne (optional)
Plain yogurt (optional)
In a deep, large saucepan sauté onions with oil
Add in dandelion and the rest of ingredients, except for the yogurt
Simmer covered, 5-7 minutes, over medium to low heat
Mix a few times while cooking
Serve with plain yogurt or labne
