Baked Doughnuts Recipe
Pretty simple doughnuts recipe.You can choose to bake or fry, the taste and texture will be slightly different but still very-very tasty ,moist ,fluffy and the best part it will be homemade without any preservatives .My kids love these
I’ve tried quite a few different doughnuts recipes and came up with this one,after making a few tests.
Ingredients
1 Tbs active dry yeast
¼ Cup lukewarm water
3 ½ – 4 Cups all purpose flour
⅓ Cup granulated sugar
1 Tsp kosher salt
1 Large egg ,beaten, at room temperature
2 Tbs all vegetable shortening melted (can be substituted by vegetable oil)
1 Cup of milk (I use full fat milk but 2% will work as well)
2-3 Tbs vegetable oil for brushing the tops
For sugar glaze :
1 ½ Cups confectioners sugar (also known as powdered sugar )
2 Tbs unsalted butter +1 Tsp vanilla extract 3-5 tbs hot water ,or as needed
Tip:
To make the chocolate glaze , just melt ⅓ cup chocolate chips with 2 tbs milk and add to the prepared sugar glaze
I made these this morning and they are a really nice breakfast to make on a Saturday morning when you don’t need to be anywhere! I had mine with yoghurt, instead of chocolate glaze, and strawberries!
