Ingredients for the meatballs
2 lbs ground meat ( I like mixing beef and turkey)
2 large eggs
1 large onion blended or finely diced
1 cup of bulgur ( use #2 or #3 grind )
2 cloves of minced garlic
1 tsp ground black pepper
1 tsp ground cumin
Dried aromatic herbs to taste 1-2 tablespoons, I like using savory , basil or dill
Salt to taste

Ingredients for the tomato-pepper sauce
2-3 tbs olive oil
2 tbs tomato paste
2-3 tbs red pepper paste
2 cups of water preferably hot
1 tbs dried basil
2-3 bay leaves
A few garlic cloves ( optional)
1 tsp black pepper
Salt to taste
