Plum Galette – Summertime Dessert

PLum Galette – Summertime Dessert

Recipe 

For pastry 

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter (cold cubes)

2 tbs sugar 

1 tsp salt

½ cup ice cold water

2 ¼ cups all purpose flour

For filling 

½ cup plum (or any) jam

About 550-600 g fresh plums (try to get firm ones)

2 tbs sugar

Pinch of cinnamon and cardamom to taste

1-2 tsp cornstarch 

Turbinado sugar or almond flakes for sprinkling edges before baking 

Brush the sides with egg or milk before sprinkling the sugar .

Bake at 400° F 35-40 minutes or until golden color
