Stuffed Rice Balls Recipe
A quick appetizer inspired by my food cravings : stuffed rice balls or as I also call it stuffed sushi balls. This is a simple and quick meal to satisfy sushi cravings, in case you can go out to have some, which will be the best option, and have only a few basic ingredients at home.
Sushi rice and roasted seaweed will be some of the ingredients I always have on hand, not that I make sushi that often, I don’t consider myself as sushi master, not at all, I can only make basic rolls. I prefer to have sushi at specialized restaurants. But it’s not always a possible option, that’s why I keep those basics on hand.
This recipe of stuffed rice is so simple and versatile, anyone can really eyeball it and make it successfully , I would really suggest to check out the YouTube tutorial for more details and you may not even need a recipe.

Ingredients
1 cup sushi rice
1 ¼ cups cold water
2 ½ tbs rice vinegar
1-1 ½ cups roasted, seasoned seaweed shreds , I buy mine from oriental supermarkets
Additionally you can use stuffings such as fresh raw fish, avocado, carrots or cucumbers
Directions
Wash, rinse the rice according to package instructions
Set aside to cool down
Drizzle with rice vinegar and using two forks, try to mix and fluff the rice
Using a scoop shape the balls, any size you prefer
Using your thumb make a hole in the rice ball
Stuff with your preferred stuffing, brings the sides together to seal, refer to YouTube tutorial for more details
Tumble the stuffed rice ball in seaweed shreds
Enjoy with your favorite sauces
